Beegle Agritech and Agriproducts Private Ltd, a Bangalore based company, provides intelligent farming solutions to farming communities. It works with the foundation goal of democratising modern agricultural technologies such as drones for Precision Farming, Coffee harvesting tools, Hydroponics and IOT and robotic based Microponics solutions.
The company acknowledges that inventing technology is essential but disseminating the technology is far more critical. They deep dive into customers’ lives and understand their actual problems, needs and put all their strengths towards building technology solutions that are available, accessible and affordable to a significant farming population, especially targeting youths, and so revolves their business model.
One of the significant product the company has been working on currently is Multipurpose Drone for precision farming. The technology is in the R&D stage and is expected to be in the market by the end of 2021. The drone can do multiple tasks from monitoring plant health, precision application of both liquid and solid plant inputs, and reducing aerial pollution, which is a significant issue faced by existing aerial spraying drones. The technology will be available to the farming community on a Farming as s Service (FaaS) model.
Foundation Journey Of The Company
Havyas KS and Nitin Singh co-found the company, Beegle Agritech, as students while pursuing his Post Graduation at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad. The passion for building an agri-tech company that could solve the pressing problems in agriculture was seeded back in 2017; the Co-founder Havyas was placed in the village for Rural Agricultural And Institutional Work Experience as part of his academic activity during his graduation in Agricultural Marketing at GKVK Bengaluru. It was the time when he could understand grassroots level problems.
When farmers were shown with technologies like drones and agricultural robots, the perception then was farmers would reject these technologies. Still, to Havyas surprise, farmers started asking for its availability, price and ways to use it. Farmers were highly interested in adopting modern agricultural technologies. It made him realise that it’s not that technologies in agriculture are lacking but the lack of technology dissemination. With the core understanding of farmers’ needs, Beegle Agritech is Re-innovating agricultural technologies to make them available, accessible and affordable to many farmers.

Impact Of Beegle Agritech On The Farming Output Of Its Client’s
Beegle Agritech, in Collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom, has built one of its kind Microponics technology called Integrated Circular Pyramid Farming (ICPF) technology in Bangalore. This method raises Hens + Fishes + and Plants in Vertical Hydroponics Structure with minimal space, water and workforce. In a conventional method, farmers can grow 25 to 30 plants in 25sq ft of area, but by using this ICPF model, farmers can grow 105 Plants + 5 Hens+ 35 Fishes in the same 25 Sq Ft of area.
With this method, they can increase farm productivity by more than Six times with diversified activity and all that with just 1000 Liters of water. The model helps farmers in getting diversified income and higher returns with minimum operating costs. The method uses the waste of one activity as input to the other, the poultry waste helps produce food fish, and waste from poultry and fish gets filtered. It gets converted into nutrients for plants; in this process, water gets purified and returns to the fish pond. Hence they can grow crops with the same water, without any additional synthetic fertilisers and chemicals. This model has been executed in one of the farmer’s fields in Shivakote, near Hesaraghatta, Bangalore.

Beegle Agritech’s Growth Journey So Far
Beegle Agritech, in two years of its existence, has raised funds from various state and central government programmes, which has resulted in an expansion of business in various locations in Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The clients throughout these states have been eager to collaborate with them for various projects on Integrated circular pyramid farms, Agriculture tourism site development, Hydroponics and Precision farm services.
The firm is currently supported by the Agri Innovation Cell of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. And will soon be mentored by MSME Incubation at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad.
The company will be expanding to other parts of the country this year with projects lined up in Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

The Innovative ICPF model of Microponics by Beegle Agritech
ICPF is a farming method combined with Vertical Hydroponics + Fish Culture + Poultry + Solar Energy. An Improvised design of microponics farming technology. This creates a closed-loop where the organic waste of one activity is fed back into the system as an input to the other activity. In practice, it implies reducing farm waste to a minimum resulting in a circular system of efficient resource utilisation.
ICPF tries to imitate nature’s principle, where varied types of plants, birds, fish and other aquatic flora and fauna can be integrated for production. These are combined in such a way and proportion that each element helps the other; the waste of one is recycled as a resource for the other through LEISA techniques (Low External Input Supply Agriculture).

The team is working on atomising the ICPF model, where robots will monitor and maintain the fish tank; the farmer can control the complete system using his smartphone just by sitting at his home.
The technologies that are in the pipeline are the multipurpose precision farming drone and coffee harvester. Their focus is to integrate all the technological innovation under one roof and make it available for customers on a rental and farming service (FaaS) model.
The company will duly focus on expansion into other parts of the country with projects on Hydroponics commercial site development and Precision Farm services.
